Share Perspectives Each Day

I operate with a sense of urgency everyday. The business we are in is deadline-driven and we all care deeply about meeting expectations.  A trait we’ve developed is understanding perspectives-slipping on someone else’s shoe for a moment to see where they are coming from.  It’s funny how compassionate you can be when you glance at the same situation from a new vantage point.  It makes one more inclined to create win-wins and help others because you can relate better to them.  If I had my druthers I would take a shiny lantern to summons the genie within …. My wish: for everyone to take a moment from their day to share perspectives. We just might learn to be less judgmental. We become delighted to learn that we are appreciated by others.  We naturally begin to help each other and live each day in a more caring kind of way.

Spam-Guard Forms

What’s with that security code field on forms where I need to enter wacky looking numbers and/or letters each time I submit it? Not everyone wants to pick up the phone and call requesting information about your product or service. That’s where a contact form comes in handy. You can obtain information from the inquirer directly into your e-mail. Unfortunately spammers have found a way to take advantage of Online forms. Spam bots scan sites for e-mail, name and message input fields so they can send you spam. Did you know there’s a way to put up your defenses against spam bots?  It’s called CAPTCHA, which stands for Completely Automatic Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart (phew, it’s a good thing they abbreviated it). A CAPTCHA field will help prevent spam by having the user enter the security code before submitting the form, which verifies it was submitted by a human. Click here to see a CAPTCHA field on our order form. CAPTCHA security field is easily added to new or existing online forms.

When the phone rings and a client says “THANK YOU!” we just got 8 new customers off the Internet in the last two weeks, it makes you feel proud. It really wasn’t much. The Website was tweaked for optimization and we helped the client implement a Google AdWords Campaign. We recommended a dollar cap and higher bid rate for his Industry. We check the Campaign and add new keywords when needed. This client is also comfortable monitoring his own Campaign. It seems to be working for him. He noted, “I’m getting more value from Google AdWords in a few weeks than from any one year in phone book advertising!”

Morning Wake-up

Less than 20 miles from New York City, it sure has been cold in Northern New Jersey. Coming into a toasty warm office with an eye-view to some white, snow-dusted trees, I’m feeling the need for a little something to keep me focused and creative today. We’ve got Web sites to design, marketing plans to implement and lots of other ends to tie—yet I’m in a hypnotic daze focused on the snowy tree tops and the steam rising from my coffee as I huff into it. I must admit that I’m questioning my morning motivation. While I wait for the rest of the crew to arrive, I decide to snap out of this funk. With a quick adjustment, I crank up the volume on the satellite radio.Duffy’s Mercy is howling in the background and my head and shoulders find a fun groove so that not before long … I’m ready to roll! The phones are starting to ring and email chimes alert me that the day has officially started.Bring it on today because I’m ready!
